Ingredients

  • Pitta bread 4
  • Chicken boneless 750 gm
  • For Marinade:
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Vinegar ¼ cup
  • Garlic cloves 2
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Green cardamom 2
  • Lemon juice 1
  • For Sauce:
  • Sesame paste ½ cup
  • Garlic cloves 2
  • Lemon juice ¼ cup
  • Yogurt 4 tbsp
  • For Red Chilli Paste:
  • Kashmiri chilli 6
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • For Pitta Filling:
  • Cucumber (finely cut) as required
  • Onion (chopped) as required
  • Sumac ½ tsp
  • Tomato as required
  • Olive oil as required

Cooking Directions

  1. For Sauce:Put all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. For Red Chili Paste:Soak Kashmiri chilli and cumin in a little water and grind in blender.
  3. Red chilli paste is ready.
  4. For Chicken:Put all the marinade ingredients in a bowl, add chicken and mix well.
  5. Now grill the marinated chicken.
  6. Then cut chicken in small pieces and mix them in sauce.
  7. Now spread chilli paste on pitta bread, add a bit of chicken mixture, top with sliced vegetables, a pinch of sumac and finish with a drizzle of olive oil.
  8. Roll in the shawarma and serve with french fries.
