Pakistani Apple pie recipe


  • Refined flour 1/2 kg
  • Egg (beaten) 1,
  • Unsalted butter 1/2 cup,
  • Salt 1 pinch

Ingredients for filling:

  • Apples (finely cut) 1/2 kg
  • Cloves 5
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon (powdered) 1/2 tsp
  • Oil 3 tbsp


  • Heat oil in a wok and fry cloves, add apples, cinnamon and sugar and cook till water dries.
  • Put salt in flour, knead and make 10 tortillas.
  • Spread butter over tortillas and stack them one on top of the other. Roll out the stack.
  • Fold it into a square and roll out again, Roll up the dough and freeze it for 10 mins.
  • Roll it out into a broad, long strips; palce apple mixture in the centre along its length. Fold both sides over so as to cover the mixture; brush dough with egg.
  • Cut pie into 11 pieces and place in a greased tray.
  • Bake in pre-heated oven at 170 C for 18 mins or till golden
