Mexico launches WTO dispute against Argentina

Geneva: Mexico has launched its first disagreement against Argentina at the World Trade Organization, which are similar to the complaints against Argentina placed by European Union, United States and Japan, as reported by WTO on Monday.
The four complaints focus on Argentina’s import licensing rules, which is criticized as to be a blanket restriction on imports and to have various protectionist policies adopted by the concerned government.
Argentina’s WTO ambassador Cecilia Nahn, defended the country’s policies against Far-Flung criticism at the WTO, and clarified that Argentina cannot be accused of bounding imports when its imports grew by 31 per cent last year.
